This is love

I’m excited to show you the my new series of sculptures called This Is Love.

This series consists of 4 sculptures. This one is called Sam.

I am working on number 3 and 4 which will be another dog and a rabbit.

‘This is love’ is about the natural love without a doubt.

I was inspired by the typical Dutch statue of the ‘farmer and farmer’s wife’. I wanted to make my own version of this, of course with animals.

To me it is so logical that these figures love each other, they belong together.

As I was working on it, it occurred to me that this was not the only possible combination. Love can exist in many forms: between a man and a woman, between 2 men, 2 women, different nationalities.

Love in any form is good.

But in itself the sculpture is also beautiful, it does not need the other to be there. So it is also about self love.

In the end, it all starts with yourself.

This colorful statue of a dog is a real eye-catcher in your interior. It is made of resin and epoxy, it’s a one of a kind. The sculptures made by Jacky Zegers are abstract but recognizable.
